Membership information

Regular Member:

A regular member is one who is actively involved in work activities involving SPHM, or one who has an interest in SPHM.

Regular members receive the following membership privileges:

  • Access to website materials and publications;
  • Networking opportunities with other membership groups within the AASPHM;
  • Regular AASPHM communications;
  • AASPHM pin;
  • Access to advisory and financial support for research projects;
  • Opportunity to participate in a product review/consumer report on SPHM related products;
  • Discounts on educational activities provided by the AASPHM.;
  • Voting privileges for the offices of AASPHM Directors;
  • Eligibility to serve on any committee;
  • Eligibility to be nominated as an officer or director;
  • Opportunity to attend open Board of Director meetings, and other open meetings of the AASPHM;
  • Opportunity to put forward agenda items for the next Board meeting for consideration;

Student member:

A student member is an individual registered and enrolled at an accredited institution of higher learning and not eligible for regular membership.

Student members receive the following membership privileges:

  • Access to website materials and publications
  • Networking opportunities with other membership groups within the AASPHM
  • Regular AASPHM communications;
  • AASPHM pin
  • Access to advisory and financial support for research projects
  • Opportunity to participate in a product review/consumer report on SPHM related products
  • Discounts on educational activities provided by the AASPHM.
  • Opportunity to perform voluntary work for the Association.
  • Eligibility to serve on any committee;
  • Opportunity attend open Board of Director meetings, and other open meetings of the AASPHM;

Organizational Affiliates:

An organizational affiliate is a healthcare facility or organization, business, educational institution, federal, state or local government agency, professional or non-professional association who is actively interested or engaged in SPHM, or who wished to support the mission of the AASPHM.

Organizational Affiliates receive the following membership privileges;

  • Access to all website materials, publications and networking opportunities;
  • Receive regular AASPHM communications;
  • Receive a plaque with the logo of the AASPHM that can be displayed at their conference booths, offices etc;
  • A Jpeg of the logo of the AASPHM that can be used, within the guidance set by the association, on their website;
  • Have a listing on the Affiliate Members Directory page of the AASPHM website with a link to their own website;
  • Receive discounts on AASPHM conferences and educational sessions;
  • Have the opportunity to be invited onto relevant association sub-committees;
  • Be involved in the search for solutions to safe patient handling challenges through the research committee, and increasing the body of knowledge available to members of the association;
  • Participate in a product review/consumer report on SPHM products.

Honorary Lifetime Member:

An honorary lifetime member is an individual who has shown outstanding achievements in the field of SPHM.

Their membership privileges are the same as for those of regular members.
